Calling Karachi ‘Like Paris’ Is Rubbing Salt on Public Wounds: Saifuddin Advocate

Opposition Leader in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Saifuddin Advocate, has strongly criticized the People’s Party for comparing Karachi to Paris, stating that such claims are tantamount to rubbing salt on the wounds of the people.

In a statement, Saifuddin Advocate said that baseless promises of transforming Lyari “like Paris” have been made by the People’s Party since the 1970s, but decades later, Lyari could not become Paris. Instead, due to poor governance, neglect, and mismanagement, the entire city of Karachi has turned into Lyari.

He accused the Sindh government of failing to provide basic amenities to citizens and demanded immediate action to address the deteriorating condition of the city’s infrastructure, sanitation, and law and order.
